Australia – IT services and consulting firm Amazon Web Services has announced that it has recently forged a strategic collaboration with the Australian government. This partnership aims to establish a “Top Secret” AWS cloud to improve the country’s defence and intelligence capabilities.

Leveraging AWS’ global experience, reliability, security, and performance, the collaboration offers continuous infrastructure investment and focuses on enhancing cloud services to address evolving needs.

It will also work alongside local skilled personnel and dedicate thousands of engineers and experts to establish such long-term government endeavours.

Furthermore, this cloud initiative will facilitate and seamlessly share classified data among Australia’s national intelligence community and the Australian defence force as well as harness advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities.

In terms of sharing and analysing classified data at speed and scale, this cloud environment also addresses the government’s concerns for data isolation, localisation, and security requirements, allowing secure deployment of sensitive workloads in the cloud.

Aside from this, the TS cloud is also set to generate new local jobs in fields of cybersecurity, data analytics, and cloud computing, empowering Australian businesses to design, build, and integrate cutting-edge cloud capabilities.

This builds on their commitment to create a skilled workforce to foster innovation and accelerate careers, significantly contributing to the nation’s digital transformation. Subsequently, it also strengthens their goal to develop comprehensive training programmes that prepare Australians for the roles of the future through collaboration with educational institutions, industry partners, and the government.
