Singapore – Infobip, a cloud communications firm, has recently announced its strategic alliance with communications tech group Singtel. This collaboration represents a significant milestone for Rich Communication Services to empower more businesses in redefining customer engagement and boosting conversions.

According to the firm, RCS is an evolution from SMS that delivers the advanced capabilities of over-the-top (OTT) messaging apps. This technology enables businesses in industries including banking and finance, gaming, retail, and e-commerce to engage with customers in entirely new ways.

In particular, said solution offers enhanced engagement, where it supports businesses in sending rich media messages such as images, videos, and carousel. This approach creates a more captivating and interactive experience for customers. Additionally, branded messaging options further enhance trust and recognition, fostering stronger customer relationships.

Another significant feature is its seamless interactivity, enabling two-way communication where customers can directly respond to messages or take actions like scheduling appointments or making purchases without exiting the messaging platform. This process boosts convenience and overall satisfaction.

Infobip is also collaborating closely with telecoms worldwide to deliver RCS to businesses, following its success across Europe and Latin America. Leveraging this knowledge, businesses in Singapore can seamlessly introduce RCS services and reap the associated benefits.

Terence Lai Tuck Leong, VP of Digitalisation, Products, and Partnerships at Singtel Singapore, said, “Companies want to better engage their customers in more interactive ways, especially on their mobile devices. RCS provides customers with more personalised communication that will help businesses build stronger relationships and drive business results.”

“We look forward to empowering organisations with this capability to help them build brand affinity with their customers,” he further shared.

“The introduction of RCS messaging marks a significant step for customer engagement in Singapore as businesses aim to elevate their communications to meet evolving consumer expectations,” said Lim Jiun Kei, head of operator partnership region at Infobip.

He further noted, “Singtel’s deep understanding of the Singaporean market, combined with Infobip’s global experience and expertise in RCS, will empower local businesses to connect with customers securely through rich, branded two-way conversations.”
