Singapore – Google Cloud, the cloud computing platform of Google, has recently unveiled major security updates designed to strengthen cyber defence strategies for modern businesses.

Part of the announcement includes the launch of Google Unified Security, a new security solution that integrates Google’s threat intelligence, security operations, cloud security, Chrome Enterprise, and Mandiant expertise. With AI at its core, the platform further offers end-to-end visibility to help organisations stay ahead of today’s evolving cyberattacks.

The company is also introducing new AI security agents within Google Security Operations to address alert fatigue. One agent, built into Google Security Operations, handles alert triage automatically, reducing repetitive tasks for analysts. Another agent speeds up malware analysis within Google Threat Intelligence, helping teams stay a step ahead of emerging threats.

Next is a new Mandiant Threat Defence service within Google Security Operations. Said solution brings advanced capabilities in active threat detection, threat hunting, and incident response.

Mandiant experts will further collaborate directly with security teams, using AI-enhanced techniques to proactively detect and neutralise threats. Mandiant Retainer now includes greater flexibility to help organisations strengthen their defences and expertise.

On the other hand, Google Cloud’s new Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) capabilities in Security Command Centre further enhance the discovery and governance of sensitive data.

It has also expanded global risk protection, with its Risk Protection Programme now including Beazley and Chubb to expand customer choice and broaden international cyber insurance coverage.

Lastly, the latest Chrome Enterprise update introduces advanced phishing protection, automated data masking, and comprehensive enterprise browsing controls specifically extended to Android devices.

Michelle Abraham, senior research director, Security and Trust at IDC, said, “Google Unified Security represents a step forward in achieving better security outcomes with the integration of browser behaviour, managed threat hunting, and security validation to strategically eliminate coverage gaps and simplify security management and threat detection and response.”

“This approach offers organisations a more holistic and streamlined defence against today’s complex threat landscape,” she added.
