Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Global technology services company FPT Corporation has been appointed to modernise U Mobile’s digital platforms, a telecommunications operator in Malaysia and a recent entrant to the country’s 5G market.
The engagement will involve deploying AI-based technologies to improve the performance and usability of the operator’s digital touchpoints, including its website and mobile application.
The programme is intended to refine customer-facing systems by enabling more streamlined navigation, enhanced accessibility, and quicker, data-informed interactions. The collaboration will integrate FPT’s technical capabilities, delivery infrastructure, and experience in AI with U Mobile’s existing digital ecosystem and customer engagement approach.
This is expected to introduce greater levels of automation, intelligent process management, and advanced analytics into the operator’s digital services.
“U Mobile is pleased to appoint FPT as we continue to enhance our digital channels to deliver seamless customer experiences,” Neil Tomkinson, chief information officer of U Mobile, commented.
“By leveraging FPT’s AI-driven expertise and cross-industry knowledge, we aim to deliver seamless, intelligent, personalised and efficient experiences for our customers.”
The planned upgrades are anticipated to support more consistent digital interactions, tailored self-service options, and faster online assistance, while also improving operational efficiency through real-time data utilisation and simplified workflows.
These developments are expected to enhance engagement for both consumer and enterprise users across U Mobile’s digital channels.
“Building on our delivery excellence and skilled workforce, we look forward to supporting U Mobile in advancing Malaysia’s journey toward a more connected, intelligent, and innovative future,” David Nguyen Tran Hung, chief executive officer of FPT Asia Pacific at FPT Corporation, commented.
FPT has maintained operations in Malaysia since 2006 and has established itself as a provider of technology services with recognition under the country’s Multimedia Super Corridor initiative.
The company delivers a range of digital transformation services, including AI, cloud computing, and managed services, supporting sectors such as financial services, energy, healthcare, and government across Malaysia and the broader APAC region.
