Philippines – Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is scaling up its enterprise operations to meet rising digital infrastructure demand across Southeast Asia, driven by the accelerating adoption of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and the Internet of Things.

The Philippine fibre broadband and technology solutions provider outlined the move at the ASEAN Tech Summit Manila, an annual event that drew more than 5,000 industry leaders from across the region.

Speaking at the summit, Grace Jarin-Castillo, Converge Senior Vice President and Head of the Converge Global Business Group – Sales and Marketing, described the company’s shift from a traditional broadband operator into what she termed an integrated technology company, or “techco.”

“Standard broadband isn’t a differentiator anymore. Enterprises trying to scale don’t just need a fatter pipe—they need an integrated digital ecosystem,” Jarin-Castillo said.

According to Jarin-Castillo, a measurable gap exists between the infrastructure currently available across ASEAN and what the next wave of enterprise technology adoption will require.

“Right now, there is a real, measurable gap between the infrastructure ASEAN has today and what this next tech wave demands. Enterprises need a complete, foundational digital backbone to compete globally,” Jarin-Castillo further elaborated.

The company’s strategy centres on the rollout of what it calls the Converge National Digital Infrastructure, a framework built around several core components.

On the connectivity front, Converge says it operates a nationwide pure fibre footprint spanning more than 960,000 kilometres, complemented by integration with Low Earth Orbit satellite systems.

The company has also positioned itself in international subsea networks, with cross-border capacity delivered through the Bifrost Cable System, the Southeast Asia-Hainan-Hong Kong Express Cable System (SEA-H2X), and the existing City-to-City East Asia Crossing (C2C-EAC), alongside international cable landing stations situated across the Philippines.

Data centre capacity forms another pillar of the strategy, with high-density, scalable Tier III facilities in Caloocan and Angeles said to augment existing operational centres in Reliance and Clark.

Converge states that its cloud infrastructure is designed to host sovereign data and provide compute power for large enterprises.

The company began its structural transition toward a techco model in 2025, expanding dedicated product suites aimed at small and medium enterprises, large corporations and the public sector.

Jarin-Castillo said the strategy of unifying connectivity, cloud services, managed IT and cybersecurity into a single platform has already yielded results.

“By unifying connectivity, cloud services, managed IT, and cybersecurity into a single platform, the company has already secured enterprise contracts with top-tier Philippine financial institutions and insurance firms,” Jarin-Castillo concluded.

With its expanded infrastructure now in place, Converge is positioning itself to capture growing enterprise and public sector demand as regional organisations look to scale their operations internationally.
