Singapore – ClickHouse has appointed veteran technology executive Ed Lenta as Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), as the company expands its global go-to-market (GTM) leadership team to support growing demand for its analytics and data platform offerings.
Based in Singapore, Lenta will lead ClickHouse’s sales and market expansion efforts across the APJ region. He joins the company from Databricks, where he served as general manager for Asia Pacific and Japan, overseeing operations across more than 20 countries. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Amazon Web Services and VMware during periods of regional expansion.
Lenta will be responsible for driving adoption of ClickHouse Cloud and the company’s open-source database among enterprises and public sector organisations in the region.
“ClickHouse is emerging as the foundational data infrastructure for the AI era, and the strategic opportunity across Asia Pacific and Japan is enormous,” said Lenta. “As agentic workloads scale, enterprises are rethinking their data architecture around both speed and efficiency, and ClickHouse outperforms traditional data warehouses by orders of magnitude on critical cost-performance metrics – that unique combination is what makes this technology so category-defining. I’m excited to build the teams and partnerships that will help organisations across the region unlock the full power of real-time analytics at scale.”
The APJ expansion also includes the appointment of Takeshi Kaneko as Country Manager for Japan. Kaneko brings more than two decades of experience in the Japanese technology sector, including serving as president of Nutanix Japan. He has also held leadership roles at Red Hat and Microsoft Japan.
Alongside the APJ appointments, ClickHouse announced several additions to its global GTM leadership team. These include Billy Schoeffel as Vice President for Financial Services, joining from Snowflake; Kenneth Melero as Vice President for Public Sector, previously with Chainguard and Elastic; Maged Shehata as Vice President for Global Solutions Architecture, also joining from Snowflake; and Andrew Straus as Vice President for Global Revenue Strategy and Operations, bringing experience from Snowflake, Kong, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
According to ClickHouse, the leadership expansion follows the appointment of Kevin Egan as Chief Revenue Officer last year and forms part of the company’s broader effort to scale its global operations.
“As organisations race to modernise their data infrastructure for the demands of agentic AI, we are investing decisively in the world-class team needed to serve them globally,” said Egan. “Ed’s leadership in APJ, combined with the strength and breadth of talent joining across the public sector, strategic sales, solutions architecture, and revenue operations functions, positions us to scale with our customers everywhere they operate.”
The company said the appointments come during a period of growth, reporting that it recently surpassed an annual run-rate revenue of $250 million and exceeded 4,000 customers worldwide. ClickHouse added that it gained more than 1,000 net new customers in a single quarter and highlighted customer participation at its Open House 2026 user conference, which included organisations such as Visa, Cisco, Intuit, Shopify, DoorDash, Mercado Libre, Zoox, and Jump Trading.
