Singapore — Circles, a global telco technology company, has entered into a strategic collaboration with OpenAI to create an AI-native platform for telecommunications. The initiative is aimed at providing operators with tools that enhance customer engagement, operational efficiency, and profitability.
The platform will first be introduced in Singapore through Circles.Life’s app, before being extended to Circles’ partner networks worldwide. As part of the multi-year collaboration, Circles will gain access to OpenAI’s early-stage models and research, which will be integrated with the company’s telecom expertise and consumer data capabilities.
“This collaboration will deliver a paradigm shift in not just user experience, but also operator efficiency which will further enhance value to the users,” Awais Mailk, global chief growth officer of Circles explained.
He added that the AI-native platform will power an agentic AI app that understands context, adapts to users’ digital lifestyles. It also seeks to enable more personalised digital experiences across services, including connectivity, shopping, travel, gaming, and wellness.
The new platform is designed to support areas such as customer support, CRM, operations, and research.
Gaurav Tandon, VP of product & AI innovation of Circles mentioned that the partnership will drive a unique technological shift, creating the next generation of telcos which will thrive and endure for several decades.
“We’re excited to integrate OpenAI’s cutting-edge AI research with our proprietary data intelligence engine to reimagine digital connectivity from ground up,” Gaurav said.
The partnership is positioned as a response to broader industry challenges, including declining customer retention, satisfaction, and profitability among telecom operators globally.
