Bitdefender launches GravityZone PHASR as standalone security solution

Singapore – Bitdefender has announced the global availability of GravityZone Proactive Hardening and Attack Surface Reduction (PHASR) as an independent offering, expanding access to its pre-emptive endpoint protection technology to organisations regardless of the endpoint protection (EPP) or endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms they currently employ.

GravityZone PHASR is positioned as the first solution of its kind to combine dynamic, behaviour-based hardening with live threat intelligence, enabling proactive defence against ransomware and living-off-the-land (LOTL) attacks.

The standalone release allows enterprises to strengthen their prevention capabilities and mitigate risks arising from excessive user privileges, zero-day vulnerabilities, and third-party software dependencies, without altering or replacing their existing security infrastructure.

“Businesses are facing a new generation of stealthy attacks that bypass traditional defences by exploiting trusted tools and applications already present in their environments,” Andrei Florescu, president and general manager of Bitdefender Business Solutions Corp, said.

“With PHASR available as a standalone solution, we’re making our pioneering technology accessible to all organisations, giving security teams a pre-emptive defence that reduces risk without requiring changes to existing security operations.”

Industry analysis indicates that traditional reactive cybersecurity measures are increasingly inadequate against complex, AI-driven threats targeting expanding digital ecosystems.

Designed to align with this evolving approach, GravityZone PHASR leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to establish behavioural baselines across users, devices, and applications. It identifies irregular patterns in software usage, privilege allocation, and data access, automatically restricting only those actions or tools that deviate from established safe behaviour.

This enables security teams to detect and neutralise potential threats before they escalate, maintaining operational efficiency while minimising system complexity.

GravityZone PHASR integrates seamlessly with existing security environments, serving as a complementary layer to any EPP, EDR, or XDR solution without requiring architectural changes or tool replacement. It dynamically restricts access to legitimate binaries and administrative tools often exploited in ransomware and LOTL attacks, helping prevent misuse before breaches occur and limiting the repetition of known intrusion techniques.

By correlating user behaviour with real-time threat intelligence, the solution also optimises protection for each system, reducing exposure and unnecessary alerts so that security teams can concentrate on critical risks.

Bitdefender stated that making PHASR available as a standalone product supports its broader mission to help organisations adopt proactive, behaviour-driven cybersecurity strategies that enhance resilience without disrupting existing operations.
