Singapore – Armis, a cyber exposure management and security firm, has recently announced the availability of its Vulnerability Intelligence Database, expanding its capabilities in vulnerability exposure and assessment.
This community-driven database incorporates exploited vulnerabilities, emerging threats and AI-powered insights, equipping the cybersecurity sector with actionable insights to effectively prioritise and mitigate threats as they arise.
Powered by Armis Labs’ early warning capabilities and Armis Asset Intelligence Engine, the company’s recently expanded feature receives data from Armis Centrix™ for VIPR Pro – Prioritisation and Remediation. This empowers Armis customers with added crowdsourced intelligence needed to effectively prioritise emerging vulnerabilities in their respective industries.
Said move also enables organisations to harden their environments before vulnerabilities or risks are widely exploited by offering critical insights faster than traditional databases.
Interestingly, the company has been authorised by the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE®) Program as a CVE Numbering Authority (CNA). The mission of the international programme is to identify, define and catalogue publicly disclosed vulnerabilities.
With its new status as a CNA, Armis has the authority to review newly discovered vulnerabilities and allocate official CVE IDs.
Nadir Izrael, CTO and co-founder at Armis, said, “As threat actors continue to amplify the scale and sophistication of cyberattacks, a proactive approach to reducing risk is essential. The Armis Vulnerability Intelligence Database is a critical, accessible resource built by the security community for the security community. It translates vulnerability data into real-world impact so that businesses can adapt quickly and make more informed decisions to manage cyber threats.”
Izrael further explained, “We are focused on going beyond detection to provide real security – before an attack, not just after. It is our duty and goal to help raise the tide of cybersecurity awareness and action across all industries. This is key to effectively addressing the entire lifecycle of cyber threats and managing cyber risk exposure to keep society safe and secure.”
