Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Alibaba.com has launched Accio, its agentic AI platform, for Malaysian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), saying the tool can run cross-border trade workflows without programming expertise.
The company unveiled the platform on 20 October in Kuala Lumpur, which it co-organised with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
According to Alibaba.com, Accio connects major e-commerce platforms and automates store operations through a suite of built-in expert tools. The company describes it as an “intelligent agentic team” that shifts AI from a passive assistant to an active operational partner.
Alibaba.com says the platform is designed for immediate deployment, allowing SMEs to manage export workflows without complex technical setups. It adds that businesses can handle end-to-end processes autonomously.
The company says the tool supports lean teams across market research, product planning, supplier sourcing and buyer outreach.
Roger Luo, Head of South and Southeast Asia Business of Alibaba.com, said, “Product-based entrepreneurship increasingly depends not only on having a strong idea, but also on turning that idea into a real product and connecting it with global market opportunities.”
“At the Malaysia Final, we saw teams applying new approaches to product development, including using AI to explore global suppliers, identify manufacturing partners and strengthen their business plans. Through CoCreate Pitch 2026, we hope to help Malaysia’s MSMEs and startups turn ideas into tangible products and build sustainable global businesses,” Lou continued.
Malaysia took part in the global competition for the first time this year, as it expanded to include Korea and Indonesia. Organisers received more than 2,300 applications from MSMEs, startups, aspiring entrepreneurs and student innovators, and selected 10 teams for the final.
Beyond the product launch, Alibaba.com signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MATRADE to advance digital trade and export readiness. The agreement’s primary objective is a dedicated “Halal Pavilion” on Alibaba.com, which will showcase certified Malaysian Halal products to international buyers.
MATRADE views digital trade as a tool for connecting export-ready businesses with global buyers. The agency says the collaboration allows it to explore new ways of strengthening exporters’ international competitiveness, particularly in the Halal sector.
Separately, UOB Malaysia has reaffirmed its support for local businesses. The bank says it will combine its financial expertise and regional network with Alibaba.com’s digital commerce ecosystem to offer SMEs financing solutions and digital capabilities.
