Singapore – SAP, an enterprise application and business AI firm, has recently unveiled that agribusiness company Olam Agri has chosen RISE with SAP on Amazon Web Services as its cloud transformation partner.
This collaboration is designed for managing the firm’s complex supply chain and fast-tracking its transition to a future powered by artificial intelligence.
According to the company, the adoption builds on the platform’s seamless integration with SAP business AI, including tools like an AI co-pilot supported by AWS infrastructure and business integrity screening.
Named Joule, this solution particularly assists in simplifying information access and transactions, thereby improving the overall efficiency for business users.
Through RISE with SAP’s integrated data platform, Olam Agri further anticipates utilising SAP innovations to help progress on key business imperatives such as sustainability, automating, and streamlining business processes to continuously deliver value.
Meanwhile, the AI-powered business integrity screening will allow the agribusiness to identify anomalous activity quickly through flexible rule sets and predictive analyses that can assist in uncovering and mitigating business risks.
Additionally, the firm’s decision to move to RISE with SAP resulted from a strong collaboration between Olam Agri, SAP, and Mindsprint, which was crucial in the complex migration process of the firm.
Shivram Ramakrishnan, chief digital and information officer, Olam Agri, said, “Our goal with the implementation of this new technology is to drive greater agility and innovation within our organisation and ensure that we are well placed to meet the evolving needs of our customers and all other stakeholders.”
Verena Siow, president and managing director at SAP Southeast Asia, further remarked, “Olam Agri’s transition to RISE with SAP marks a pivotal step in its digital transformation journey, enabling the company to accelerate to innovate and improve its operational efficiency and sustainability.”
“By embracing the cloud, Olam Agri is not only future proofing its processes with the seamless adoption of advanced technologies like AI, but it is also enhancing its ability to support farmers and farming communities while driving greater sustainability across its global operations,” added Siow.
Also speaking about the initiative, Dharmender Kapoor, chief executive officer at Mindsprint, said, “As the implementing partner, Mindsprint collaborates closely with our customers to unleash the utmost potential of their digital investments. Our deep relationship with customers like Olam Agri provides valuable insight into their businesses and industries, enabling us to maximise the impact of their new and existing IT infrastructure to achieve business success. With over 600 SAP experts, we are confident in our ability to guide Olam Agri through this large transformation and deliver tangible value to our customer.”
Meanwhile, Priscilla Chong, country manager for Singapore at AWS, stated, “AWS are proud to support Olam Agri’s digital transformation journey as their trusted cloud provider and to deliver on its farm-to-table value proposition with AI-powered technology.”
Chong then concluded her statement, noting, “Our scalable infrastructure and commitment to innovation will empower Olam Agri to drive efficiency, ensure total quality management of its end-to-end commodities value chain, enhance the customer experience for its farmers, retailers, and distributors, and unlock new opportunities for growth in the agricultural sector.”
