United States – Managed IT and cybersecurity provider Abacus has launched AI³ (Abacus AI Acceleration), an initiative aimed at helping organisations in regulated industries adopt, manage and scale artificial intelligence through a governance-focused approach.

The initiative combines AI technologies from partners including OpenAI, Google and Microsoft with Abacus’ expertise in infrastructure, cybersecurity, compliance and IT operations. The company said the programme is intended to help organisations move AI deployments beyond experimentation and integrate them into business operations.

“The future of AI will belong to organisations that can pair innovation with governance, ambition with accountability, and strategy with execution,” said Anthony J. D’Ambrosi, CEO of Abacus.

“At Abacus, our AI3 initiative is helping clients turn disruption into direction, bringing clarity and confidence to an increasingly complex AI landscape. By combining decades of experience operating and securing complex environments, with a deep compliance focus, we are now helping clients adopt AI in ways that are reliable and scalable to drive a lasting competitive advantage,” D’Ambrosi continued.

AI³ includes new products and services alongside additions to Abacus’ existing offerings. The company said it has deployed Anthropic models in more than a dozen Claude implementations and is offering an AI Risk and Readiness Assessment for organisations in sectors including healthcare and financial services.

The assessment is designed to help organisations evaluate their current AI maturity and identify areas for further development.

The initiative also incorporates an internal agentic layer used in Abacus’ service delivery operations. The system provides technicians with context-aware support when responding to client requests.

Abacus said its approach is designed to address the growing need for organisations to manage AI across its full lifecycle, from initial adoption through governance, security and ongoing operations. The company already manages infrastructure and technology environments for clients, which it said provides a foundation for supporting AI deployment and oversight.

The company is taking a vendor- and model-agnostic approach, allowing clients to select AI technologies based on their business requirements, risk profiles and regulatory obligations.

AI³ is structured around four areas: governance and compliance; enablement and integration; operations and monitoring; and ongoing innovation.

Abacus said the framework is intended to provide organisations with a structured approach to deploying AI while addressing requirements around security, compliance and operational management.
