Singapore – Rubrik, a provider of cybersecurity and AI-driven operations software, has introduced Rubrik Security Cloud Sovereign, a new offering designed to support organisations with stringent requirements around data residency, access control, and regulatory compliance.
The platform is intended to help public and private sector entities maintain operational resilience while addressing evolving national and regional data protection frameworks.
The new service enables organisations to determine where their information is stored and who is permitted to access it, allowing data governance models to adapt as regulatory conditions change. This approach is aimed at organisations managing sensitive or mission-critical information, where jurisdictional control over digital assets is a core requirement.
“Our customers have been clear about what they need. They want certainty that no foreign entity, whether government or vendor, can access or control their data.” Anneka Gupta, chief product officer at Rubrik, commented.
“For those managing sensitive data, sovereignty isn’t optional – it’s fundamental. Today’s announcement reinforces our commitment to helping leaders secure their posture against foreign and domestic adversaries.”
Rubrik Security Cloud Sovereign is designed so that all operational components, including customer data, associated metadata, management functions and control systems, remain within boundaries defined by the customer. By ensuring that these elements operate under a selected legal jurisdiction, the platform seeks to reduce exposure to external oversight or unauthorised access.
The offering also incorporates data protection and recovery capabilities across on-premises environments, cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms. These protections include mechanisms intended to prevent unauthorised modification, deletion or encryption of information, even in scenarios where attackers obtain elevated system privileges.
In addition, the platform integrates threat detection and response functions that operate entirely within the customer’s environment. These include analytics and automated identification of abnormal activity, allowing organisations to identify potential security incidents without transferring data outside their chosen jurisdiction.
Deployment options are available across approved sovereign cloud providers as well as on-premises infrastructure, enabling flexibility based on regulatory or operational needs.
Rubrik also noted that some services or capabilities referenced in relation to the platform may not yet be generally available and could be subject to change.
