Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Netskope has announced the opening of its first data centre in Malaysia, located in Kuala Lumpur, alongside the establishment of a local go-to-market team in Indonesia. The developments are intended to enhance service performance, technical delivery, and customer support for organisations operating in both markets.
The expansion builds on the company’s existing presence in Asia, which includes local teams in the Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
In line with its global market strategy, Netskope continues to collaborate with regional distributors and partners while increasing its direct presence. The deployment of a local team in Indonesia is designed to provide additional customer engagement and support, while also strengthening the local partner ecosystem through expanded sales, technical, and training resources.
“These deployments are reinforcing our commitment to delivering excellent local support and service delivery to current and future users in Indonesia and Malaysia,” Kunal Jha, regional director for Asia at Netskope, stated.
“Organisations in these markets require modern security and networking capabilities that both accelerate and secure digital transformation, without any compromises between those priorities.”
The new Malaysian data centre is expected to improve service responsiveness for local customers and support regulatory requirements related to data sovereignty, while reducing the need to compromise between security controls and network performance.
“We are thrilled that Netskope is strengthening security and data protection with the new data centre, enhancing a secure and seamless employee experience,” May Ching Ng, chief information officer of Maxis, commented.
“By leveraging Netskope’s platform, we have strengthened our data protection capabilities, ensuring that our employees benefit from a consistent and secure experience, whether they are working in the office or remotely.”
The Kuala Lumpur facility forms part of Netskope’s NewEdge infrastructure, a private global network comprising more than 120 data centres worldwide, including 25 across Asia. Each site is equipped with full computing capacity to process security traffic and deliver the complete range of SASE services.
The NewEdge network is also supported by localisation zones that extend coverage to more than 220 countries and territories, allowing users to access content that aligns with local language, search results and application requirements, even when traffic is routed through regional data centres.
Malaysian enterprises operating in sectors such as telecommunications and digital services are expected to benefit from the local deployment through improved performance, enhanced data protection and stronger compliance support.
“Netskope’s decision to establish a dedicated data centre in Malaysia is a significant step forward—it enhances performance, supports data sovereignty, and helps future-proof our compliance as regulations increasingly emphasise localisation and security,” Sivanathan Subramaniam, group chief risk & compliance officer at CTOS Digital Bhd, said.
The expansion in Malaysia and Indonesia reflects Netskope’s broader focus on supporting organisations in Southeast Asia as they advance digital transformation initiatives, with an emphasis on delivering secure, high-performance networking and cybersecurity capabilities through locally available infrastructure and support teams.
