Lenovo and Cyberport partner to support Hong Kong startups for global growth

Hong Kong — Lenovo Hong Kong has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cyberport to strengthen innovation and technology development in Hong Kong and support the city’s startup ecosystem. The partnership aims to provide comprehensive assistance to startups, from proof-of-concept to scaling in international markets.

The collaboration will bring together Lenovo’s global technology expertise and Cyberport’s experience in nurturing digital innovation, offering startups access to technical resources, funding, and market opportunities.

The initiative also seeks to advance the adoption of artificial intelligence and digital solutions in Hong Kong, contributing to the city’s digital economy and smart city development.

“We are extremely pleased to forge this deeply significant strategic partnership with Cyberport,” Serena Cheung, general manager of Lenovo Hong Kong and Macau, said.

“Through this collaboration, we hope to fully leverage our comprehensive strengths in technology, resources, global network, and investment incubation to provide holistic support to Hong Kong’s startups.”

She added that this partnership will help startups in Hong Kong transform innovative ideas into market-competitive solutions that will accelerate their journeys into the global market.

Under the MoU, Lenovo and Cyberport will cooperate on ecosystem development, startup enablement, and strategic engagement. Startups within the Cyberport community will receive end-to-end support through Lenovo’s system integration capabilities, financial resources, and international market access.

Cyberport will work closely with Lenovo to help startups establish operations locally and expand abroad, while facilitating collaboration opportunities with Lenovo and its affiliated companies. The partnership will also extend to marketing initiatives, with Lenovo co-organising training sessions, workshops, and industry events in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, EdTech, HealthTech, PropTech, and the low-altitude economy.

“Lenovo’s profound strength in the global technology sector and its rich experience in fostering startup development will provide invaluable technical support, industry insights, and global expansion opportunities for the community of companies in Hong Kong,” Dr. Rocky Cheng, CEO of Cyberport, explained.

“This partnership will advance the development of AI and digital technologies, contributing to the growth of Hong Kong’s digital economy and smart city developments.”

The agreement also includes plans to highlight innovation through joint showcases and creative collaborations. Lenovo will establish an Innovation Centre at Cyberport to demonstrate its latest digital solutions and cultural tourism technologies, serving as a hub for creativity and knowledge exchange.

The centre will also be featured to visiting delegations as a platform for demonstrating collaborative efforts in digital transformation and innovation.

The partnership is expected to enhance Hong Kong’s innovation ecosystem and strengthen its role as an international hub for technology and entrepreneurship.

By combining resources and expertise, Lenovo Hong Kong and Cyberport aim to accelerate the development of impactful digital solutions and help local startups expand onto the global stage.
