Vietnam — Vietnamese financial technology group MoMo has partnered with iProov, a global provider of biometric identity verification, to enhance protection against digital fraud for tens of millions of users.
The collaboration introduces iProov’s Dynamic Liveness technology to secure MoMo’s remote identity verification processes and defend against advanced threats such as deepfakes and digital injection attacks.
The partnership comes as Vietnam’s financial services sector faces increasing risks from generative AI-driven fraud. In response, the State Bank of Vietnam has implemented Decision 2345, mandating stronger biometric authentication for online transactions.
By adopting iProov’s technology, MoMo aims to proactively align with these regulatory requirements while reinforcing its commitment to trust and security in digital financial services.
Pham Kim Long, head of AI & Big Data at MoMo, shared that trust is the top priority in every decision the company makes for its current users.
“As digital threats evolve, so must our defenses. Integrating iProov’s industry-leading technology provides an unparalleled layer of security, combating fraud like deepfakes and ensuring our users feel safe and confident in every interaction with MoMo,” Long Pham stated.
iProov’s Dynamic Liveness, powered by its patented Flashmark technology, verifies that an individual is genuine, present, and correctly identified, ensuring protection against spoofing attempts.
This level of identity assurance is particularly important in high-risk sectors such as financial services, where secure authentication is essential to prevent unauthorised access, reduce fraud, and maintain user confidence.
Andrew Bud, founder and CEO of iProov, is delighted to be partnering with MoMo, which prioritises user trust and security.
“In the era of generative AI, protecting against sophisticated fraud is essential for enhancing user engagement and expanding digital services,” Andrew said.
MoMo is one of Vietnam’s leading super apps, offering a broad range of financial and lifestyle services.
The integration of iProov’s biometric verification technology is expected to strengthen the platform’s fraud prevention capabilities and support its wider goal of advancing financial inclusion in Vietnam.
