Singapore — Revolut, a UK-based global financial technology company, has announced an expanded multi-year partnership with Google Cloud. The agreement will enable Revolut to utilise Google Cloud’s secure and scalable infrastructure to support its international operations and future growth.
The collaboration aims to enhance Revolut’s capacity to scale its systems in response to increasing customer demand, with a long-term objective of serving more than 100 million users worldwide.
As part of the partnership, Revolut will integrate Google Cloud’s artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, including Gemini models, to improve fraud detection, deliver real-time financial insights, and develop more tailored product offerings. The use of these technologies aims to enhance both back-end operations and the customer experience within its app.
David Tirado, vice president of global business and profitability at Revolut, commented on how Google’s AI and cloud infrastructure are incredible assets for the company.
“This partnership will empower us to rapidly scale our offerings, deliver even more personalised and valuable experiences to our customers, and continue to outpace the traditional financial sector,” David said.
The agreement underpins Revolut’s broader innovation strategy, which includes recent launches such as ATMs in Europe, new savings and investment tools, and planned entry into the UK and German telecoms markets with mobile plans.
By relying on Google Cloud’s infrastructure, Revolut aims to accelerate the delivery of these new services while maintaining performance and security at scale.
Tara Brady, president of Google Cloud EMEA, mentioned how the company is excited to support Revolt with constantly pushing the boundaries of the financial sector.
“Google is proud to provide secure, scalable, and intelligent infrastructure, powered by our leading AI, to fuel its ambitious global expansion and help it deliver the next generation of financial services to a new audience,” Tara commented.
Founded in 2015, Revolut has grown rapidly from 1.5 million customers in 2018 to more than 60 million today. The expansion of its partnership with Google Cloud represents a key step in its efforts to build a global financial ecosystem.
