China — Bosch, a global provider of technology and services, and Alibaba Group, a technology company specialising in e-commerce and cloud computing, have announced an expanded partnership to accelerate digital transformation through cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and e-commerce.
The collaboration will focus on cloud-based enterprise operations, AI-driven business applications, and international e-commerce growth. It forms part of Bosch’s broader digital strategy to enhance operational efficiency, product intelligence and consumer engagement.
As part of the agreement, Bosch will utilise Alibaba Cloud’s infrastructure and AI capabilities across areas including corporate operations, home appliances and commercial vehicles. The companies also plan to explore running Bosch’s intelligent driving environment on Alibaba’s AI infrastructure, with particular attention to smart cockpit technologies and automated driving solutions.
Dr. Tanja Rückert, member of the Bosch board of management and chief digital officer at Bosch, mentioned that the partnership opens exciting opportunities for both companies, expanding global offerings.
“By joining forces, we combine Alibaba’s advanced cloud infrastructure, AI capabilities, and e-commerce market reach with Bosch’s deep technological expertise in mobility, industrial technology, and consumer goods to drive greater efficiency and innovation worldwide,” Dr Tanja explained.
In addition, the partnership will strengthen Bosch’s e-commerce presence. Building on its existing business on Alibaba’s Tmall platform in China, Bosch plans to introduce new product categories in 2025, supported by consumer insights from Alibaba. The company will also expand its e-commerce footprint in Southeast Asia, Spain and Latin America through Alibaba platforms such as Lazada, Miravia and AliExpress.

Bosch first partnered with Alibaba in 2017 to enhance its digital sales channels in China. Since then, the collaboration has included joint initiatives in marketing, customer engagement and membership programmes, contributing to a stronger digital ecosystem for Bosch products in the region.
