Singapore – Cloudian, a data management software for hybrid cloud, has recently named Anna Christensen as the new head of channel and alliances for Asia Pacific and Japan.
Said announcement includes Victoria Meldrum taking over Christensen’s former role as head of marketing for the region.
These changes also follow the surge in demand for Cloudian’s technology across the region, driven by rising data needs and customers and partners seeking shelter from tariff uncertainty.
According to Christensen, the new tariffs have brought considerable uncertainty to technology investment planning and placed additional pressure on already-stretched IT budgets.
She further commented, “Our software-defined approach has given flexibility, choice and control to our customers and partners across APJ. Now, it’s also helping to shield them from tariff costs and uncertainty while establishing their foundation for data-centric applications, including AI workloads that will drive competitive advantage.”
Christensen has been with Cloudian’s APJ marketing programme since 2022 and has extensive experience from IT distributors NEXTGEN and Exclusive Networks.
Meldrum, on the other hand, joins the company from Buckner Brand Management, with more than two decades of experience with companies such as Fortinet, Menulog, and Canon. Among her goals is strengthening joint marketing initiatives with Cloudian’s APJ partner base, particularly in key and growing regions like A/NZ, India, Vietnam and the Philippines.
She also remarked, “Cloudian’s unique partner-led model and engagement were major drawcards for joining the company. No one else in the market offers the same breadth of technology in the increasingly important object storage space, exemplified by the company’s growing partnerships with NVIDIA and other AI leaders.”
Following these appointments, Christensen and Meldrum will collaborate closely with Cloudian distributor partner NEXTGEN, an Exclusive Networks company, and participate in its new Connect initiative.
Spearheaded by industry leader Wendy O’Keeffe, Connect is designed to offer growth support, scalable lead generation, sales enablement, and market representation for tech start-ups and modern cloud vendors in Australia and New Zealand.
James Wright, managing director for Asia Pacific & Japan at Cloudian, said, “Anna and Victoria are a testament to the great talent we have and are adding across our APJ business. They also embody the community- and channel-focused approach that is engrained in everything we do and gives back to the incredible APJ and A/NZ ICT ecosystems.”
With Cloudian’s software-first approach, companies can upgrade their data storage on existing hardware, thus avoiding new capital expenditures that are now inflated by tariff-related price increases.
The firm also supports organisations in sourcing hardware from local suppliers when necessary and making its inventory of pre-configured appliances, acquired before tariffs, available to the APJ market.
