Manila, Philippines – Globe, a telecommunications company, has recently signed a strategic agreement with GoTyme Bank to accelerate protection against scams through data-sharing initiatives.
In their latest statement, the said companies confirmed the agreement includes sharing of information about mobile numbers, names, and addresses suspected of being linked to fraud.
This exchange of information, according to them, will only be limited to what is necessary, ensuring full compliance with the Data Privacy Act.
The new partnership further streamlines the process of investigation amongst suspected scammers, given that authorities can access necessary information without obtaining a warrant or subpoena.
“This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to championing cybersecurity and protecting our customers from the growing threats in the digital world,” commented Irish Salandanan-Almeida, chief privacy officer at Globe.
“Through collaborations, we can combine our expertise and resources to better safeguard the financial sector and our customers from cybercrime,” added Irish.
Globe previously established collaborations with the Bankers Association of the Philippines and its affiliated banks to strengthen its anti-fraud efforts.
