Manila, Philippines – Globe, a Philippine-based telecommunications provider, has recently announced the introduction of its first fully functional private 5G network designed to address business challenges across multiple industries.

With the launch, the company now offers businesses exclusive access to bandwidth, unlike public networks that serve multiple users. This strategic approach ensures better control, stronger security, and the flexibility to adapt the network to specific operational needs.

Said service is expected to be rolled out soon for their business-to-business clients, catering to industries such as ports, mining, and manufacturing. Additionally, this move aims to enhance operational safety, workforce management, and asset tracking.

Meanwhile, the pilot test of the network, conducted with Nokia Shanghai Bell, integrated a video surveillance and analytics solution designed to count people, recognise faces, detect gender, and track vehicle plates, providing businesses with tools for improved efficiency and security.

Gerhard Tan, senior director and head of technology strategy and innovations at Globe, said, “This milestone demonstrates our drive to provide cutting-edge connectivity solutions that cater to the varying needs of our clients. As businesses and organisations continue to adapt to the rapidly changing technological landscape, Globe’s private 5G network solution will be a key enabler in overcoming connectivity challenges, enabling new applications for different use cases, and driving the next wave of digital transformation.”

“This initiative underscores our commitment to empowering businesses with solutions that foster growth and resilience in today’s connected world,” added Tan.
