Singapore – Bitdefender, a cybersecurity firm, has recently unveiled the launch of an AI-powered scam copilot designed to detect and combat scams and fraud across a range of devices such as computers, tablets, and smartphones. Users can now benefit from a more advanced defence system to further protect against malware, credential stealing, and data theft.

As a new platform, scam copilot consolidates all Bitdefender scam detection and prevention technologies under a single, unified umbrella. It also actively monitors for, detects, and alerts users of scams and potential fraud during activities like web browsing, emailing, chatting over messaging apps, texting, and more.

Aside from these functions, it also uses Bitdefender’s real-time global threat intelligence and AI to learn and adapt to emerging scam tactics and techniques.

Some of its key features also include a full scam and fraud protection feature, where Scam Copilot offers comprehensive protection across digital environments such as web browsing, email, texting, chat apps, push notifications, and calendar invites.

It also provides an intuitive AI-powered chatbot assistance that allows users to engage in natural conversations to inquire about alerts, receive best practice guidance for staying safe, or get a reliable second opinion on potential scams based on the context and scenario.

Another significant feature is its geo-specific scam wave alerts notifying users to newly emerging or trending scam campaigns impacting their region. The alerts provide detailed information about the type of campaign, delivery method, key tactics, and potential risks, giving users timely insight to stay ahead of evolving threats.

Scam Copilot further offers strong protection for groups often targeted by scammers, including seniors, children, and teens. Said platform adapts to user behaviour, offering tailored recommendations and simple steps for taking action.

Lastly, it also empowers scam awareness by providing personalised advice and learning resources based on specific interactions, enabling consumers to become more vigilant and confident in safely navigating the digital landscape.

Ciprian Istrate, senior vice president of operations, consumer solutions group at Bitdefender, said, “The rapid growth and sophistication of online scams has made it incredibly challenging for consumers to safeguard their digital lives. While the term ‘scam’ may sound innocuous, the consequences are far from trivial, often leading to identity theft, financial loss, and data loss.”

“Scam Copilot is a true gamechanger; we have integrated our most advanced anti-scam technologies into our market-leading consumer security solutions to ensure our customers remain protected as threats evolve,” he further added.
