Singapore – SAP, a multinational software firm, has announced that Singapore’s National Healthcare Group (NHG) has recently adopted the company’s SAP SuccessFactors in its human resource system.

According to the group, NHG needed to modernise its HR infrastructure to meet the evolving operational needs of its over 20,000 healthcare professionals caring for 1.5 million residents in Central and North Singapore. This strategic move builds upon their commitment to fostering a better community-based, patient-centric healthcare model.

As part of the transformation, the branded iConnect@NHG was launched in two phases.

The first phase included the development of a strong HR foundation with modules for Employee Central, Time Management, Recruitment, Onboarding, Learning and Development, and Performance and Goal Management. This was rolled out in January 2023, which aims to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.

The second phase, on the other hand, was implemented in November 2023, introducing advanced features like succession management and compensation planning for enhanced functionality.

Furthermore, NHG also shared their selection of SAP SuccessFactors as the central platform for its HR transformations based on its cloud-powered capabilities.

The said integration with SAP Analytics Cloud further allowed NHG to benefit from the real-time workforce data visibility, empowering its leadership team to make informed decisions on talent management and workforce planning.

This approach, powered by data and enhanced through Qualtrics’ sentiment analysis, enables NHG to actively monitor and manage employee performance, engagement, and well-being for a more rewarding workplace experience.

As the first public healthcare cluster in Singapore to implement SAP Build Work Zone, NHG has already centralised its HR operations into one intuitive platform. This enables employees to easily navigate tasks, policies, and customised workspaces.

The adoption of a mobile-first, data-driven approach with SAP SuccessFactors has also allowed the healthcare group’s workforce to be more agile and engaged, while significantly reducing administrative tasks and improving data accuracy.

Khoo Swee Lan, group chief human resource officer at NHG, said, “The healthcare sector is rapidly changing. We needed a system that could enhance mobility, improve data accuracy, and support continuous learning—all while being accessible to employees on the go.”

Khoo further added, “By embedding listening into the employee journey, we are able to create a more fulfilling and meaningful experience for our staff. This ensures our employees feel valued and heard, which is critical in today’s competitive healthcare environment.”

Eileen Chua, managing director at SAP Singapore, also said, “NHG’s HR transformation with SAP demonstrates how a forward-thinking approach to technology can revolutionise even the most traditional sectors.”

“SAP SuccessFactors has enabled NHG to create a more agile, mobile-enabled, and data-driven HR system that enhances employee engagement and empowers proactive decision-making. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, we hope that NHG’s digital HR strategy can serve as a blueprint for other healthcare organisations looking to transform not just their HR function but their entire operations,” concluded Chua.
