Manila, Philippines – Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE), an IT services and consulting firm, has recently announced that it has appointed Walter So as the new managing director for HPE Philippines.
Taking on his new position, So is set to spearhead the company’s local operations, driving business growth and strengthening customer relationships.
This strategic appointment is anticipated to have a crucial influence on HPE’s commitment to deliver innovative technology solutions and services in the region. At the same time, his expertise in these areas is further expected to strengthen the company’s strategic initiatives and market presence in the Philippines.
Leveraging his extensive experience in the field, So’s career started at IBM, where he dedicated 11 years to progressing from sales roles to various management positions.
He eventually assumed the general manager role at Global Technology Services, overseeing key initiatives in hybrid cloud, digital workplace, and cybersecurity before he moved to VMware.
Following his time at IBM, he also joined VMware as the country manager for the Philippines. He then played a role in VMware’s operations in the country for four years, guiding the company through significant growth until its acquisition by Broadcom Software in 2022.
Subsequently, he took on the role of country leader for the Philippines and Vietnam at Broadcom Software, where he was responsible for operations and business strategies for the region.
In a recently published LinkedIn post, HPE welcomed So, stating, “We are delighted to introduce Walter So, our new managing director for HPE Philippines. With his comprehensive industry knowledge and leadership skills, he is well-positioned to lead our Hewlett-Packard Enterprise team.”
