Mohali, India – Knack RCM has partnered with Prosper AI to deploy AI voice agents across its revenue cycle operations, automating routine payer and patient calls while directing specialists towards work requiring human judgment.
The companies said the agents will handle calls such as benefits verification, prior-authorisation status checks, claims and denial follow-up, and patient billing. The agents can navigate payer phone systems, wait on hold, speak with live representatives and record results in existing systems.
Prosper AI’s voice agents are HIPAA-compliant and SOC 2 Type II-certified. They integrate with electronic health record systems and connect with practice-management and clearinghouse platforms to support end-to-end workflows.
Knack RCM plans to deploy the agents on call types that take up the most specialist time. Its teams will focus on complex denials, appeals, payer negotiations and other decisions that require expertise in revenue cycle management.
“This is not about fewer people. It is about people doing the work they do best. Our specialists bring judgment, not patience with payer IVRs. Knack’s AI-enabled platform has been built on years of payer, denial and workflow data from the most medically complex segments in healthcare — DME, anaesthesia, physician practices and rural hospitals,” said Gautam Barai, Managing Director and CEO of Knack RCM.
“Our speciality-trained teams already decide how a claim is worked, with AI-generated outputs which shall always be subject to a human making the decision. What Prosper AI adds is a voice: AI that can execute the most time-consuming payer calls and feed what it learns back into our platform.
This is not automation layered onto our revenue cycle — it is our revenue cycle, learning faster. Since our commercial model is outcome-aligned, our clients don’t pay for calls made; they benefit from claims collected,” Barai continued.
“The future of healthcare will have an AI workforce to handle some of the most complex patient and payer interactions across scheduling, benefits checks, prior auth, and billing. Knack understands that better than almost anyone,” said Xavier de Gracia, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Prosper AI.
“By pairing Prosper AI’s ability to execute payer workflows at scale with Knack’s deep RCM expertise, we’re giving specialists more time for the complex work that requires human judgment, and building a faster, more effective model for the entire industry,” Gracia continued.
The companies said the partnership is intended to enable continuous follow-up, earlier identification of denial patterns and faster resolution of ageing claims. Knack said the model is designed to scale its operations based on outcomes rather than headcount.
