Taipei, Taiwan – PXPay Plus has launched on Samsung Wallet, allowing users in Taiwan to pay, ride public transport and top up their accounts from a single mobile wallet. The company describes it as the first electronic payment brand in the industry to deeply integrate with a built-in mobile wallet.
The service becomes available on 1 November for Samsung Galaxy smartphones launched from 2022 onwards. PXPay Plus says users who have upgraded from PX Pay are equally eligible.
Support covers Galaxy models released between 2022 and 2026, as well as future devices. Users must first update the Samsung Wallet app to version 6.8.67 or later.
To link an account, users open Samsung Wallet, tap “Add Card”, and select “Scan to Pay”. They then choose either “PXPay Plus” or “PX Pay (upgraded to PXPay Plus)”, agree to the terms and complete security verification.
Once linked, PXPay Plus sits alongside other everyday tools within the wallet. Users can reach it with a swipe, without switching between apps.
Beyond in-store payments, the integration extends to public transport. Users can open the PXPay Plus Transit QR Code directly from Samsung Wallet to ride the metro and buses in Taipei and New Taipei, as well as Keelung city buses.
Users can also top up their PXPay Plus account and register for promotions without leaving the wallet. At checkout, the dual-point redemption already available in the PXPay Plus app applies as well.
Under that system, users can redeem PXPay Plus Points or Cathay United Bank Tree Points, a credit card reward, to cover up to the full purchase amount. Payments through Samsung Wallet work at PX Mart, MEGA PX MART and participating physical stores.
PXPay Plus says its network spans more than 370,000 partner locations across Taiwan. The company announced the integration on 30 October.
