Hong Kong – Luxury fashion group Tod’s has completed a global payments rollout with fintech company Adyen, consolidating payment operations across more than 100 stores and digital storefronts in 14 countries.
The three-month implementation brings Tod’s physical and digital payment channels under a more unified infrastructure, addressing the operational complexity created by its previous network of different acquiring partners.
According to the companies, Tod’s selected Adyen to accommodate differing payment requirements across its regional markets. The platform supports local payment preferences without requiring separate integrations for each market.
The rollout also involves Adyen’s Unified Commerce solution, which connects payment operations across physical and digital channels. The consolidated infrastructure has helped reduce one-off costs and the time required to enter new markets or enable additional payment methods.
Anchored in the essence of collaboration, the partnership covers Tod’s multi-brand and omnichannel operations, with the implementation also including Adyen’s Pay by Link solution. The move is intended to streamline payment management across markets while reducing the work involved in introducing new payment methods and expanding into additional regions.
The company has also reported changes in how payment and financial data is handled across its headquarters and regional teams. More consistent information flows are being used to support acquisition and reconciliation processes, while improving data quality for finance and treasury operations.
Tod’s has reported authorisation rates of close to 90% online and almost 95% in-store following the implementation.
“In our industry, product quality must always go hand in hand with the quality of relationship management and service. This also means paying close attention to the evolution of payments in order to fully meet customer expectations, while also making our internal processes more efficient,” said Andrea Mercuri, Head of Group Treasury, Tod’s Group.
She also expressed that, “By partnering with Adyen, we aim to simplify operations across markets and channels, with a solid and scalable foundation on which to keep building, at a time when new technologies such as AI are also opening up further opportunities for optimisation.”
Meanwhile, Kai Tang, Head of Hong Kong, Adyen, emphasised: “For a prestigious global brand like Tod’s, adapting to diverse local payment preferences while maintaining a seamless luxury customer experience is a strategic priority.”
“This is especially relevant in Hong Kong, one of the world’s most dynamic luxury retail hubs, where retailers serve a highly international customer base with evolving payment expectations. We are proud to support their large-scale international operations with the agility and precision that today’s retail landscape demands,” Kai added.
Tod’s and Adyen are expected to continue developing omnichannel payment capabilities across the fashion group’s boutiques and digital channels, with the companies pointing to further opportunities to connect technical infrastructure with retail operations.
