Châteraisé Singapore adopts Adyen platform to standardise payments across franchise stores

Singapore – Châteraisé Singapore Pte. Ltd., the Singapore operating arm of Japanese confectionery company Châteraisé Co. Ltd., has selected Adyen as its payment platform provider across its Singapore operations, as the company looks to standardise payment processes and improve operational efficiency across its franchise network.

The rollout will cover all of Châteraisé Singapore’s stores, following an initial implementation at an autonomous store located at Nanyang Technological University. The company said the pilot deployment demonstrated operational benefits that led to the wider rollout.

Châteraisé currently operates 895 specialty confectionery stores in Japan and 163 stores across seven overseas markets. In Singapore, the company has 37 stores, including 34 franchise-operated outlets.

Prior to the partnership, individual franchise operators managed separate agreements with local financial institutions and payment service providers. According to the company, this arrangement resulted in inconsistencies in available payment methods and made it more difficult to maintain standardised payment terminals and software across stores.

“By adopting Adyenʼs solution, we have established a foundation for a standardized payment environment across all stores in Singapore while enabling the strategic use of purchase data,” said Masayuki Matsuoka, Director of Châteraisé Singapore. “As our business operates under a franchise model, Adyenʼs platform removes the need for each franchisee to enter into separate contracts with financial institutions and other providers, while supporting secure and flexible payment methods. This improves both operational efficiency and service quality across our stores.”

Under the arrangement, franchisees will be able to access a unified payment platform from the opening of a new store through a single API integration with Adyen. The company said this has reduced implementation time from 10 days to three days.

Châteraisé headquarters will also use Adyen’s Terminal Fleet Manager to centrally manage software updates and maintain terminal security across stores.

Adam Brownstein, Country Manager for Japan at Adyen, said the partnership would help simplify payment management for the confectionery retailer as it expands internationally.

“We are truly honored to have been selected as the payments partner for Châteraisé, one of Japanʼs leading confectionery manufacturers,” Brownstein said. “For a company achieving global growth through a franchise model, simplifying payment complexities is key to further expansion. With Adyen, Châteraisé can centrally monitor and manage payment data from all locations, significantly reducing the burden of reconciliation operations.”

The companies also said the platform will support a more consistent customer experience by standardising payment options across stores and enabling the business to analyse local payment preferences.

In addition, Adyen’s platform will consolidate transaction data from in-store and telephone orders, giving Châteraisé a unified view of customer purchasing behaviour. The company said this would allow stores to personalise customer interactions based on transaction history.

Châteraisé said the initiative is aimed at transforming payments from a back-end administrative function into a tool for customer engagement across its Singapore operations.
