ITSEC Asia launches AI-assisted penetration testing platform Bronyx AI

Jakarta, Indonesia – ITSEC Asia has launched Bronyx AI, an AI-assisted automated penetration testing platform designed to help organisations accelerate cybersecurity assessments while retaining oversight from cybersecurity professionals.

The Indonesia-headquartered cybersecurity and AI company said the platform aims to address the increasing pace of cyber threats by reducing the time required for security testing from days to hours. The launch also marks the company’s expansion from cybersecurity services into AI technology development.

According to ITSEC Asia, Bronyx AI was developed based on more than 16 years of experience in cybersecurity engagements across multiple international markets. The platform uses AI agents to conduct security assessments on authorised systems, including network reconnaissance, vulnerability assessments, configuration reviews, web application and API testing, before generating security assessment reports with Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) ratings and remediation recommendations.

Unlike conventional vulnerability scanners that primarily identify vulnerabilities, Bronyx AI’s AI agents analyse assessment results and recommend subsequent testing actions. In laboratory testing conducted by ITSEC Asia, the platform completed full scans in as little as 14 minutes, with total assessment times ranging from 14 minutes to four hours depending on the scope and complexity of the systems being assessed.

The platform was officially introduced during a launch event in Jakarta on 15 July, attended by Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, Director General of Digital Ecosystem at Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs; Sonny Hendra Sudaryana, Director of Digital Ecosystem Development at the ministry; and Yudho Giri Sucahyo, member of the Ethics Council of the Indonesian Fintech Association (AFTECH).

The event featured discussions on AI adoption, emerging cybersecurity risks and collaboration between government, regulators and industry to strengthen Indonesia’s digital ecosystem. ITSEC Asia also demonstrated how Bronyx AI uses AI agents throughout the security testing process.

Patrick Dannacher, President Director of ITSEC Asia, said organisations require new approaches to security testing as cyber threats continue to evolve.

“Technology and cyber threats are evolving faster than ever. Digital infrastructure and services are constantly changing, while security testing continues to require significant time and specialised expertise. Through Bronyx AI, we want to help organisations complete security testing in hours while maintaining the involvement and validation of experienced cybersecurity professionals,” said Patrick.

He added, “Bronyx AI was built from the real-world experience of ITSEC Asia’s cybersecurity teams across multiple industries and markets. We have translated those experiences into AI technology while ensuring cybersecurity professionals remain an integral part of the testing process. For us, AI-driven speed must always be accompanied by high-quality findings, sound analysis and professional accountability,” he added.

ITSEC Asia said Bronyx AI incorporates a Human in the Loop (HITL) approach during designated stages of the assessment process. High and critical-risk findings are validated by the company’s cybersecurity consultants before reports are delivered to customers.

The platform also generates security assessment reports based on the reporting standards used in ITSEC Asia’s penetration testing services, with the company saying this enables AI to improve the speed and breadth of assessments while retaining human expertise where contextual analysis and professional judgment are required.

Speaking at the launch, Edwin Hidayat Abdullah said AI innovation should be supported by stronger cybersecurity capabilities and domestic technology development.

“Artificial intelligence presents tremendous opportunities for Indonesia’s digital economy, while also introducing new challenges that must be anticipated, including in cybersecurity. We appreciate the efforts of Indonesian technology companies such as ITSEC Asia in developing AI-based technologies that address real industry needs. Initiatives like Bronyx AI demonstrate the capability of Indonesia’s technology ecosystem to create solutions that are relevant domestically while strengthening the nation’s competitiveness on the global stage,” said Edwin.

ITSEC Asia said Bronyx AI only performs assessments on systems that have received written authorisation and are within an agreed testing scope. The platform currently supports testing for web applications, APIs and defined network ranges.

The company added that each customer’s assessment data is stored separately, with encryption applied to keys and credentials. It also stated that customer assessment data is not used to train AI models without written consent. Bronyx AI can be deployed either as a cloud-based service or within a customer’s own environment to meet stricter security and data governance requirements.

Concluding the launch, Patrick said, “The launch of Bronyx AI reflects the direction ITSEC Asia is taking as a company. We are building on our cybersecurity expertise to develop AI-powered technologies that solve real security challenges for organisations.”
