Fortinet launches Singapore cloud hub for network detection and response across ASEAN

Singapore – Fortinet has launched a new cloud-based network detection and response (NDR) Point-of-Presence (PoP) in Singapore, aiming to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities for organisations across Singapore and the wider ASEAN region amid growing cloud adoption, hybrid work arrangements, and digital transformation initiatives.

The new Singapore-based FortiNDR Cloud PoP is designed to provide network detection and response services closer to regional customers. According to Fortinet, the expansion is part of its broader efforts to enhance cyber resilience in Asia-Pacific and address challenges such as fragmented security environments, increasing alert volumes, and the need for improved visibility across complex IT infrastructures.

The company said organisations are increasingly seeking greater visibility across on-premises, cloud, hybrid, and operational technology environments as cyber attackers adopt more sophisticated techniques, including the use of legitimate tools and trusted platforms to evade detection.

FortiNDR Cloud uses artificial intelligence-powered analytics, behavioral detection, and threat intelligence from Fortinet’s security research team to analyse network traffic and metadata for potential threats. The platform is intended to help organisations identify suspicious activity earlier and reduce the time attackers remain undetected within networks.

The launch also reflects a broader shift in security operations, with organisations looking to consolidate tools and streamline incident investigation and response. FortiNDR Cloud includes features such as AI-powered guidance, natural language capabilities, and up to 365 days of retrospective threat hunting, enabling security operations teams to review historical network activity and investigate incidents more efficiently.

Fortinet said hosting the PoP in Singapore enables customers across ASEAN and Asia Pacific to access services from infrastructure located closer to their operations, which may support performance, operational efficiency, and regional compliance requirements.

“Organisations across ASEAN and Asia Pacific are operating in increasingly complex digital environments, where security teams must manage growing cloud adoption, hybrid operations and rapidly evolving cyber risks. At the same time, many organisations are looking to leverage AI to improve security outcomes, but fragmented environments and limited visibility continue to create operational challenges,” said Jack Chan, VP, Product Management and Field CTO APAC at Fortinet

He added, “Fortinet’s continued investment in Singapore reflects our long-term commitment to helping customers build stronger cyber resilience through integrated, AI-powered security capabilities delivered closer to where they operate.”

Meanwhile, Jess Ng, Country Head for Singapore and Brunei at Fortinet, added: “In Singapore, organisations are increasingly prioritising visibility, operational efficiency, and faster response as cyber threats become more sophisticated and difficult to detect. The new Singapore-based FortiNDR Cloud PoP brings advanced detection and response capabilities closer to customers, helping them improve visibility across distributed environments, strengthen operational resilience, and support faster, more efficient security operations.”
