NTT DATA plans WinWire acquisition to expand enterprise AI capabilities

Singapore – NTT DATA has entered into an agreement to acquire WinWire as part of its efforts to strengthen its enterprise AI and cloud transformation operations in collaboration with Microsoft.

The proposed transaction is intended to expand NTT DATA’s capabilities in areas including agentic AI, data engineering, Azure-based AI services and cloud-native software development. The acquisition would support its broader strategy of helping organisations implement AI systems at an operational scale rather than limiting deployments to pilot programmes or experimentation.

Following completion of the transaction, WinWire is expected to contribute more than 1,000 Azure engineers and AI specialists to NTT DATA’s operations. The additional workforce will increase the company’s resources across Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure AI Foundry, and is expected to support the delivery of AI and cloud projects internationally.

“The acquisition of WinWire is a decisive step in advancing our enterprise AI strategy and expanding our leadership in Microsoft Azure and AI-powered cloud transformation,” Abhijit Dubey, CEO and Chief AI Officer at NTT DATA, Inc, stated.

“By combining WinWire’s deep expertise in cloud-native development and agentic AI with NTT DATA’s global scale, this positions us to lead the shift to enterprise AI, enabling clients to move from experimentation to enterprise-wide deployment and achieve meaningful business outcomes.”

WinWire provides AI, cloud and data engineering services to enterprise customers and maintains delivery centres in India. The company is recognised within Microsoft’s partner ecosystem and participates in Microsoft’s Agentic Partner Alliance Programme.

“As a leading Microsoft Solutions Partner recognised through multiple awards over the years, we built WinWire with a clear focus on delivering meaningful Microsoft Azure and AI-led transformation for our enterprise clients,” Ashu Goel, CEO of WinWire, commented.

“Joining NTT DATA marks an exciting new chapter, allowing us to extend our capabilities to a much broader global client base. Together, we are well-positioned to accelerate innovation and shape the next wave of AI-driven transformation for our clients.”

According to NTT DATA, the combined capabilities of the two companies are expected to support the development of cloud-native and AI-enabled business systems across sectors. WinWire’s existing AI frameworks and automation tools are also expected to complement NTT DATA’s managed services and infrastructure offerings.

The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Rothschild & Co acted as financial adviser to NTT DATA on the deal.
