Singapore – Anthropic has announced the general availability of the Claude platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS), enabling customers to use the company’s native Claude directly through their existing AWS accounts.
The service allows organisations to access Claude without needing separate login details, contracts or billing arrangements. According to Anthropic, AWS is the first cloud provider to provide access to the company’s native platform experience in this way.
Customers can activate Claude on AWS through the AWS Marketplace. The service uses a workspace model that allows organisations to separate projects, environments or teams while maintaining centralised billing and administration. The workspace also functions as the main AWS Identity and Access Management resource for the platform.
In a LinkedIn post, Matt Garman CEO of AWS mentioned, “Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the first cloud provider to offer Anthropic’s native Claude Platform experience directly through customers’ accounts.”
“What that means is builders get the full Claude Platform, native APIs, and console without leaving the AWS environment. You keep your existing IAM credentials, Marketplace billing, and CloudTrail logging. No separate systems.”
Users can work with the same APIs, tools and console features available through Anthropic’s direct offering. These include the Messages API, managed agents in beta, advisor tools in beta, web search, web fetch, MCP connector in beta, Agent Skills in beta, and code execution API currently in beta.
Additionally, Claude on AWS supports two authentication methods: AWS Identity and Access Management using Signature Version 4, and API keys. Temporary IAM credentials are suited to environments requiring stronger security controls, while API keys may be more suitable for evaluation and testing.
Charges are processed through AWS Marketplace on a usage-based model, allowing customers to monitor spending alongside other AWS services.
Meanwhile, platform activity can also be recorded through AWS CloudTrail, enabling organisations to review, audit and investigate usage using existing AWS governance tools.
The availability of Claude on AWS is intended to complement access to the Claude models through Amazon Bedrock, giving customers different deployment options depending on operational needs.
Currently, Claud on AWS is available across multiple regions, including locations in the United States, Canada, South America, Europe and Asia Pacific, such as Tokyo, Seoul, Jakarta, Sydney and Melbourne.
