Philippines — YADEA Philippines and J&T Express Philippines have signed a strategic agreement to introduce electric vehicles into last-mile delivery operations, with an initial deployment of 1,000 units in Manila ahead of a planned nationwide expansion.
The partnership aims to increase the use of electric vehicles in the Philippine logistics sector and support lower-carbon urban delivery operations.
The companies said the rollout will centre on YADEA’s ST13 electric delivery tricycle, which is designed for high-frequency, short-distance commercial deliveries. The vehicle features a lightweight mesh cargo box intended to improve battery range, along with A+ grade puncture-resistant steel-wire tyres designed for continuous delivery operations.
YADEA, which describes itself as the world’s No. 1 electric two-wheeler brand for nine consecutive years, operates more than 70 branded sales and service centres. Its Philippine range includes models such as the EPOC and CL8.
The agreement also marks YADEA’s expansion into the Philippine logistics market through its partnership with J&T Express, a courier company operating across the country.
Wang Chun, Yadea General Manager of the Philippines, stated, “This cooperation reflects a deep synergy between product capability and logistics networks, representing a practical response to the country’s demand for green transportation.
“We hope our locally tailored electric vehicles allow delivery personnel to ride with greater peace of mind and operate more efficiently, injecting tangible momentum into low-carbon urban logistics,” he continued.
Mary Andaya, J&T Express Philippines National Capital Region Key Account Manager, stated, “Through this collaboration, we are actively integrating electric vehicle solutions into our last-mile operations. This initiative optimises our daily workflow while aligning with our shared direction of collaborating on the large-scale adoption of electric tricycles for deliveries to enhance delivery efficiency within the local logistics sector.”
The Manila pilot is expected to serve as the first phase of the companies’ planned rollout, with nationwide expansion to follow.
