Singapore – VAST Data has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to make its AI OS available as a fully managed service across hybrid environments.
The collaboration enables enterprises to use the VAST AI OS to connect data clusters running both in Google Cloud and on local infrastructure. This enables organisations to avoid complex data migrations while maintaining seamless access to information wherever AI workloads operate.
The partnership also aims to simplify how enterprises run AI applications across multiple environments, addressing the challenges of fragmented storage systems and siloed data pipelines that can slow down AI performance and complicate governance.
Through VAST’s DataSpace technology, enterprises can create a unified global data structure that ensures consistent and high-speed access to data across long distances.
Jeff Denworth, co-founder at VAST Data, shared how the partnership with Google Cloud allows the company to provide what customers need through the AI OS.
“Google Cloud customers can auto-deploy a VAST-managed cluster via Google Cloud Marketplace and start production in minutes, providing integrated governance, billing, and elastic scale,” Jeff commented.
He added, “This is all handled by VAST, making enterprise data instantly usable for agentic workloads for global enterprises.”
In a recent demonstration, VAST linked data clusters located in the United States and Japan—over 10,000 kilometres apart—showing that organisations can operate inference workloads in different regions without duplicating data or managing separate systems.
This setup allows AI models to run across various processors such as tensor processing units (TPU) and GPUs, while maintaining synchronised access to the same dataset.
“Bringing VAST AI OS to Google Cloud Marketplace will help customers quickly deploy, manage, and grow the data solution on Google Cloud’s trusted, global infrastructure,” Nirav Mehta, vice president of compute platform at Google Cloud, commented.
He added, “VAST can now securely scale and support customers on their digital transformation journeys.”
By deploying VAST on Google Cloud, organisations can begin running AI workloads without extended data migration or planning processes. The platform supports intelligent streaming, allowing only the necessary portions of data to be transferred, which helps reduce storage and network costs.
Enterprises can also apply unified data governance, access control, and retention policies across cloud and on-premises systems to support compliance and security requirements.
The hybrid architecture of VAST combines data storage, analytics, and AI management into a single platform that scales dynamically across both Google Cloud and enterprise environments.
It is designed to accommodate workloads in fields such as genomics, structural biology, and financial services, providing flexibility in how and where organisations choose to process their data.
