Singapore – Data protection and governance solutions firm Straits Interactive has recently announced the introduction of an innovative tool powered by generative AI to strengthen data protection compliance.
This solution, named DPOinBOX AI, also assists data protection officers with governance challenges in the current AI-driven digital scene.
Built on the Straits Capabara platform, DPOinBOX AI represents a new generation of DPOinBOX powered by Generative AI. This cutting-edge tool leverages large language models in a safe, secure, and sustainable manner, increasing productivity among data protection officers and improving risk control analysis by up to 5-10 times faster than conventional methods.
As a solution, the tool offers features including an AI DPO toolkit, which allows DPOs to capitalise on AI to build data inventories, data flows, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and recommended controls to address risks.
It further involves an AI DPO Assistant, which draws on a corpus of privacy regulations and guidelines to offer answers 24/7.
Another significant feature is the AI DP staff toolkit that provides full multi-modal AI tutors to guide staff in PDPA compliance, alongside tools for AI-powered compliance self-assessment, consent/notice generation, and operational self-help advice.
In addition, the firm also unveiled an AI self-help function that uses the Capabara knowledge system. This notable component allows users to securely upload, store, and query their own policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) through Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) models, offering instant, customised guidance on data protection requirements.
Completing the suite, an enhanced AI version that strengthens DPO capabilities by offering self-help and AI tutors for staff, generating tangible compliance outcomes, and providing a roadmap to achieve Data Protection Trustmark certification. This particular function reduces the effort and time investment for users, making it more engaging, insightful, and suitable for beginners.
