Singapore – Semperis, a computer and network security firm, has recently unveiled that it has secured a total of US$125m in a funding round raised in June 2024. This move reaffirms their commitment to helping businesses secure their cybersecurity frameworks, supporting product innovation and the company’s expansion in the Asia Pacific and Japan regions.
As part of the endeavour, Semperis further aims to equip Singaporean organisations with the knowledge and capabilities to intercept attacks, protect and mitigate impact, safeguard critical operations, and facilitate rapid recovery to ensure savings and reduce downtime by 90%.
With expansion plans in the APJ region in 2025, the company also shared that it has experienced triple-digit revenue and pipeline to facilitate its rapid expansion across APJ.
In fact, the company has also signed significant distribution agreements in major Southeast Asian markets such as India, Australia, South Korea, and Taiwan, effectively growing partnerships by over 100%.
The onboarding of leading partners across the telecommunications, financial services, and transportation industries, including Imperium Solutions and TruVisor, all contribute to Semperis’s efforts in building a cyber-resilient future.
Apart from the aforementioned efforts, Semperis will also double its Singapore headcount in 2025 before expanding in phases to fulfil the steady demand for identity-focused cybersecurity solutions locally.
This move follows its commitment to close the global skills gap by offering certified training programs to accelerate the knowledge and capabilities of Singapore’s local workforce, starting with pre-sales engineers in January 2025.
Mickey Bresman, CEO and co-founder at Semperis, said, “Singapore’s standing as a key financial hub makes it a prime target for cybersecurity attacks, with a 145% year-on-year increase in annual cyberattacks and losses of S$34 million over scams recorded in 2023 alone. This results in more companies shifting their stance from reactive defence to proactive identity security.”
Gerry Sillars, vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan at Semperis, also remarked, “With the growing sophistication of identity-driven cyberattacks, more Singapore organisations are looking at ways to strengthen their cybersecurity postures. By focusing on identity management as the new security perimeter in protecting the critical assets of organisations and nation states, we help Singapore companies to proactively identify, halt, and rectify attacks and rapidly recover in the event of a disaster.”
Meanwhile, Jonathan Juay, executive director at TruVisor, commented, “TruVisor’s partnership with Semperis has been a game changer, significantly enhancing our cybersecurity offerings. Their expertise in identity security, combined with our strengths in asset intelligence, cloud security, data protection, and digitalisation and automation, creates a robust security ecosystem.
“This collaboration has given us peace of mind by protecting critical systems against the most sophisticated threats, improving cybersecurity posture, and helping our customers stay ahead of emerging threats throughout the product lifecycle,” Juay further stated.
