United States – Palantir Technologies and Armada have announced a partnership to develop sovereign AI infrastructure for enterprises and governments, combining Palantir’s Sovereign AI Operating System with Armada’s modular data centres and infrastructure platform.
As part of the agreement, Palantir has named Armada its Inaugural Certified Modular Data Centre Partner. The joint offering combines Palantir’s software with Armada’s Galleon modular data centres, Armada Platform, and Sovereign AI Grid.
The companies said the combined infrastructure is designed to allow organisations to run open-weight AI models on computing, data and physical infrastructure they own and control. The modular approach is intended to enable deployments within months rather than the longer timelines associated with conventional data centre construction.
The partnership comes as organisations seek greater control over AI models, data and underlying infrastructure. Palantir and Armada said enterprises and governments are increasingly looking to reduce reliance on externally hosted models and hardware supply chains outside their jurisdictions.
Under the agreement, Palantir will validate and integrate its Sovereign AI Operating System on Armada’s Galleon modular data centres. The system is built on Palantir’s AIP, Ontology, Foundry and Apollo platforms.
The offering builds on Palantir’s Sovereign AI OS Reference Architecture, which was jointly developed with NVIDIA, and extends it to modular data centre infrastructure. Customers can deploy open-weight models, adapt them using proprietary data and run them within infrastructure under their control.
Modular infrastructure and distributed AI
Armada’s software platform provides support for fine-tuning and inference of open-source models, including NVIDIA Nemotron, on customer-owned infrastructure. The company said deployments can operate without reliance on external cloud services and can be configured to run in fully air-gapped environments where required.
The Armada Platform also provides real-time monitoring of power, cooling and computing resources across deployments.
Its Sovereign AI Grid connects individual deployments into a distributed system designed to provide resilience across multiple sites. The companies said this can help prevent critical AI workloads from depending on a single location.
The combined offering brings together Armada’s Galleon modular data centres, software platform and distributed grid with Palantir’s Sovereign AI Operating System.
“Sovereignty is not something you rent. It is owning the weights, the data, and the hardware those models run on—and knowing where that hardware was built,” said Alex Karp, Co-founder and CEO of Palantir.
“Our ontology gives institutions control over their data, their models, and the inputs they use to fine-tune models. Armada gives them control over the infrastructure those models operate from, manufactured in the United States and allied nations and delivered in months,” Karp continued.
“Palantir makes the software governments and enterprises trust with their most consequential decisions,” said Dan Wright, Co-founder and CEO of Armada.
“Armada brings the infrastructure layer beneath it: hardware manufactured in the United States and with trusted allies, a platform that keeps every deployment under the customer’s control without reliance on any external cloud, and the Sovereign AI Grid that connects deployments into a system resilient by design. Together, we make sovereign AI faster to deploy, more sovereign, and more resilient—on-grid, off-grid, or fully air-gapped, in months instead of years,” Wright continued.
