Tokyo, Japan – Japan’s Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank has selected Box Enterprise Advanced as its content platform to centralise unstructured data and support the secure adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across the organisation.
The bank plans to use Box as a central repository for unstructured content, including procedural guides, rules and regulations, manuals and Office documents that are currently distributed across departments and systems.
While structured data managed through core banking systems has already been standardised at the bank, the dispersion of unstructured information has made it more difficult to use this content across the organisation and provide AI systems with access to relevant information.
By consolidating this content through Box, the bank aims to create an AI-ready corporate content platform while improving employee productivity. The platform’s security and governance capabilities were also factors in the selection, including granular access controls, content protection, ransomware protection and audit trails.
The bank plans to use Box Hubs and Box AI to help employees find information more quickly, with the aim of reducing time spent searching for information or asking colleagues for assistance.
It also plans to consolidate frequently asked questions and use AI-generated responses to reduce the time required to handle internal enquiries. Box custom agents will be used to support routine review processes, while an AI agent platform will eventually enable cross-functional use of structured and unstructured data.
“To use AI as a partner that maximises the value of people, it is essential to create an environment in which AI can securely and appropriately access the information it needs,” said Tomohiro Kozakai, General Manager of the Digital Management Division at Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank.
“By using Box as the content platform for the entire bank, we will centrally manage previously dispersed unstructured data under appropriate access controls and create an environment that enables us to make more effective use of the knowledge accumulated within the bank.
Going forward, in addition to using Box AI, we will look toward an AI agent platform that can use structured and unstructured data across the organization, with the aim of enhancing our operations and further increasing the value we provide to customers,” Kozakai continued.
The deployment is intended to allow AI systems to access internal information under defined permissions while giving the bank greater control over how content is managed and used.
“We are honored that Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank has selected Box as its AI-ready content platform for the entire bank,” says Noriyuki Sato, President of Box Japan.
“To turn AI into business outcomes, it is important not only to use AI models, but also to securely manage the content accumulated within an enterprise and prepare it so that AI can use it under appropriate permissions. Box provides centralised management of unstructured data, security and governance, and AI-powered content utilisation on a single platform. We will support Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank in transforming its operations and further enhancing the value it provides to customers,” Sato continued.
