Singapore – Network for Electronic Transfers, a payment services company, has recently announced the appointment of Lawrence Goh, head of group technology and operations (GTO), UOB, as one of the company’s board of directors.
Goh has been appointed as UOB’s representative to the NETS board, succeeding Eddie Khoo, who currently serves as senior advisor to UOB Vietnam. Khoo previously held the position of head of group personal financial services.
For this new role, Goh boasts more than 30 years of international experience in leading large-scale transformations for businesses. He also became the head of group infrastructure platform services and chief operating officer for GTO at UOB.
Through these positions, he has been a central figure in directing and influencing the bank’s digital technological transformation. He was also able to significantly contribute to advancing service delivery and harnessing customer centricity within the organisation and in external interactions.
Jeremy Soo, chairman at NETS, said, “We are pleased to welcome Lawrence to the board. He has extensive experience in driving technology transformation and enabling innovation. As digital adoption continues to accelerate, a robust payment system is essential to ensure the consumer experience is secure and seamless.”
“We look forward to working closely with Lawrence and leveraging on his experience to reinforce NETS’ position as a leading provider of digital payment services in Singapore. On behalf of the Board, I extend my thanks to Eddie for his years of contribution in shaping NETS’ journey and strengthening our position in the payments space,” he further stated.
With a leadership role overseeing over 7,000 staff regionally, Goh contributes as the co-chair of the technology and operations workgroup for the MAS-ABS Cross Border Governance Steering Committee and as a member of the ABS Digitalisation Standing Committee.
He further represents UOB as an alternate director on the Singapore Clearing House Association.
