Singapore – Mimecast, a cybersecurity company, has recently announced the appointment of Barry Chen as the new regional sales leader of business development strategist for ASEAN.
Chen boasts more than 15 years of experience in sales and business development, with extensive expertise in accelerating revenue growth and expanding market reach across Asia.
He is known for his strategic approach, where he has consistently driven new business, built high-performing teams, and fostered strong partnerships with telecom operators, enterprises, and government clients.
Before joining Mimecast, he became the regional sales director for ASEAN at Recorded Future. During his tenure, he was able to rebuild and lead a team across ASEAN and Taiwan, achieving remarkable pipeline growth and consistently exceeding sales goals.
According to the company, these attributes, alongside his expertise in strategic sales leadership and market expansion, will be instrumental in driving new business opportunities, especially at Mimecast.

With a strong academic foundation, Chen holds a master’s in telecommunication engineering from the National Technology University and a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Houston, Texas.
He is also fluent in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Indonesia, with intermediate proficiency in Thai. These multilingual skills enabled him to engage seamlessly across different markets.
