Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam – AsiaPay has partnered with McDonald’s Vietnam to roll out an integrated online payment solution aimed at streamlining digital transactions for customers in Vietnam.
The solution enables in-app payments through the McDonald’s Vietnam mobile application for its Mobile Order & Pay (MOP) and McDelivery Service Channel (MDSC). It supports Visa, Mastercard, American Express (Amex), JCB, Apple Pay, ZaloPay, ShopeePay and VNPay (VietQR), with tokenisation technology used to support secure transactions.
The companies said the integration is intended to give customers more payment options and reduce friction during checkout, while supporting McDonald’s Vietnam’s broader digital transformation efforts.
AsiaPay’s platform also provides automated transaction processing, multi-store reconciliation, reporting and settlement. Payment analytics are designed to provide insights into purchasing patterns and customer preferences that can be used to support business operations and customer engagement.
Joseph Chan, CEO of AsiaPay, stated: “We are delighted to partner with McDonald’s Vietnam to bring AsiaPay’s proven regional payment expertise and secure technology platform to Vietnam’s fast-growing digital economy. Together, we aim to give McDonald’s customers more choice at checkout, enhancing the digital customer experience McDonald’s brings to customers across Vietnam.”
The partnership covers payments made through McDonald’s digital ordering channels, while the companies said customers ordering in-store, through self-service kiosks or delivery platforms are expected to benefit from improvements to the overall transaction experience.
According to AsiaPay, the platform also consolidates payment reporting and settlement processes and uses big data analytics to provide McDonald’s with consumer insights. These capabilities could support the restaurant chain in developing more targeted marketing initiatives and refining its products and services.
The collaboration forms part of Vietnam’s efforts to enhance convenience and digital capabilities, while expanding AsiaPay’s presence in Vietnam’s digital payments market.
