Google introduces family-focused update to AI agent CC

Singapore – Google has expanded its AI agent CC to help families and households manage their day-to-day logistics, according to the company.

The update gives CC its own dedicated Google account, providing the agent with a distinct identity and permissions structure. Up to six household members can now use and manage the agent together.

Previously, CC was available to individual users through the Gemini App’s Daily Brief feature, which launched in May. The new version is designed to address one of the company’s most requested features: support for running a busy home.

According to Google, CC only accesses information that each member actively chooses to share, such as emails from a child’s school, a local sports club, or a veterinary clinic. The agent then sorts this information automatically and compiles it into a shared daily brief.

CC also connects directly to Calendar and Tasks, consolidating scheduling information that would otherwise remain scattered across separate accounts and inboxes.

Each morning, the agent produces a “Your Day Ahead” briefing for the group. This summary outlines who needs to be where, what tasks remain outstanding, and what CC has already completed on the household’s behalf.

Beyond scheduling, Google says CC can take on time-consuming administrative work. This includes completing permission slips, registering children for activities, drafting school supply lists, and putting together weekly meal plans.

The agent is designed to ask for missing details as needed and to retain this information for future use, building what Google refers to as group memory over time.

To manage its interactions securely, CC now operates through its own verified Google Account. The company states that the agent responds only to members of its assigned group and will not share information externally without permission.

Each household member retains control over what they share with CC and can adjust these settings at any time, according to Google.

The company has also introduced an “auto cc” function, allowing users to pre-select trusted senders — such as a school or travel provider — whose emails are automatically shared with the agent going forward.

A weekly, private digest additionally surfaces new senders that members can choose to approve on a case-by-case basis.

For one-off updates, users can forward information directly to CC, such as sending a photograph of a party invitation or an activity schedule through email or Google Chat, prompting the agent to update the shared calendar.

Users may also share Drive folders or files with CC, or add the agent directly to a Calendar.

Integration extends across several of Google’s existing tools, including Gmail, Chat, Docs, and Calendar, allowing CC to operate within workflows users are already familiar with.

Behind the scenes, each instance of CC runs on its own isolated cloud environment, powered by Google’s agentic framework, Antigravity, along with the company’s latest Gemini models.

This infrastructure reportedly enables more complex tasks, such as pre-filling class registration PDFs, checking live drive times between activities using the Google Maps API, and generating shared Docs and Sheets.

Google also notes that CC’s memory system distinguishes between information relevant to the whole household, such as a go-to grocery list or favourite family restaurants, and details specific to individual members, such as dietary preferences or local time zones.
