Thailand – Aiming to drive Thailand’s digital innovation forward, Google Asia Pacific has recently announced that it has partnered with Gulf Energy Development to conduct joint cloud operations. This strategic partnership aims to address local regulatory needs and enable the growth of data storage and processing in a secure environment.
Recently, Gulf informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand that its wholly owned subsidiary, Gulf Edge Co., has entered into a cooperation agreement with Google to manage Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped services.
As part of the agreement, the company will function as a managed GDC provider, a Google Cloud business partner that will help promote the use of GDC air-gapped for organisations in Thailand. This will include expert consulting and services, as well as comprehensive system management.
Industries that handle sensitive or confidential data, like healthcare, energy, utilities, and public safety services, constitute the target customer base for the GDC air-gapped system. GSA DC’s data centres will support the installation of such cloud systems within the scope of the cooperation.
Speaking about the initiative, Yupapin Wangviwat, deputy chief executive officer and chief financial officer at Gulf, said, “We hope that this collaboration would establish a strong foundation for future growth in Thailand’s digital infrastructure sector.”
Gulf Edge has become the pioneering partner to team up with Google for these initiatives in Thailand, marking the start of a strategic alliance aimed at providing various cloud services, such as cybersecurity and AI innovation.
