Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Google Cloud has recently announced that it has appointed Hana Raja as the company’s new country manager in Malaysia.

With over 16 years of experience, Raja brings extensive expertise in advising and partnering initiatives from her position as a managing director at Cisco and Bain & Company.

In fact, she has worked on advisory roles and collaboration endeavours with executive teams in sectors including finance, retail, and healthcare, with a focus on sustainable expansion and enhancing customer experience.

In this new position, Raja will oversee local go-to-market strategy and operations for both Google Cloud and Google Workspace. She will also report directly to Serene Sia, country director for Malaysia and Singapore.

“Hana joins us at an exciting phase of Google Cloud’s growth in Malaysia,” said Sia, commenting about Raja’s appointment.

She then explained, “We’re not only investing deeply in local computing infrastructure like a sovereign cloud with Dagang NeXchange Berhad (DNeX), a Google data centre, and a Google Cloud region to meet organisations’ diverse transformation requirements, we’re supporting large-scale initiatives like Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Work 2.0 with the Ministry of Digital and National AI Office (NAIO), Teraju AI Selangor with the State Government of Selangor, and the Gamuda AI Academy.”

“With her rich vision, experience, industry network, and focus on people and culture, Hana will play an important role in advancing our growth journey in this key market. We are confident that her leadership will help more local organisations thrive in a digital economy that’s projected to be worth up to $70b by 2030,” added Sia.

Meanwhile, Raja stated, “We have strong ambitions for further growth in Malaysia, and I look forward to continuing to expand our local team and partner ecosystem. Together, we can build on the company’s successes to date and increase the scope and scale of our collaborations with the government and businesses.”

According to her, the company has already positioned itself as a trusted provider of data- and AI-powered innovation in Malaysia, where it supports organisations with leading infrastructure, tailored platforms, and industry expertise. Said move further extends to strategic consulting to unlock insights and drive impact.

Google Cloud also announced upcoming collaborations, including AI at Work 2.0 with the Ministry of Digital and the National AI Office, Teraju AI Selangor with the Selangor government, and the launch of the Gamuda AI Academy.

As the company noted, Google Cloud is increasingly becoming the platform of choice for Malaysian organisations aiming to scale and solve key business issues. Users include large enterprises (Bank Muamalat, Capital A, Maxis), public sector agencies (Ministry of Digital, NAIO, MIDA), and high-growth startups (Carsome Group, Mindvalley, Asia Mobiliti).
