Fastly names Rachel Ler as area vice president of Asia, supporting business growth across APJ

Singapore – Fastly, Inc., a global edge cloud services provider, has appointed Rachel Ler as area vice president of Asia, strengthening its leadership presence across key markets in the region.

In this position, Rachel is responsible for overseeing the company’s operations and commercial activities across ASEAN, China, and South Korea, with a mandate to support regional growth, expand customer and partner engagement, to help advance Fastly’s market development strategy in Asia.

Rachel brings more than two decades of experience in enterprise technology and regional management across APAC. Her previous senior leadership roles at Commvault and Versa Networks involved guiding customer-led growth initiatives, developing technology solutions, and building partner networks to support long-term expansion.

She has managed teams across multiple APAC markets and has experience in establishing scalable go-to-market frameworks for international technology firms.

“What excites me most about joining Fastly is its authenticity and its passion for building a faster, safer and more engaging internet. That spirit of acting with passion is something I connect with deeply,” Rachel shared.

“I’m energised by the opportunity to bring Fastly’s engineering strength and customer-focused mindset to this dynamic region and to make a real impact together.”

The appointment forms part of Fastly’s broader investment in regional leadership aimed at delivering locally informed expertise and closer proximity to customers. Rachel will work alongside the APJ leadership team and Fastly’s global executives to support the company’s focus on edge cloud capabilities, infrastructure designed to support AI-driven workloads, and international growth.

Her responsibilities include supporting organisations across markets such as Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea and China as they seek to modernise digital platforms, strengthen application security and improve performance for end users.

“I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity for Rachel to drive progress for the region with her expansive experience and deep understanding of customers across these markets,” Nicola Gerber, vice president for APJ at Fastly, shared.

“Market localisation and serving customers with true regional proximity are critical pillars of our APJ expansion strategy. Rachel’s extensive insight into the customer and partner landscape, along with her proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.”

Fastly’s expansion efforts in Asia reflect the increasing demand for low-latency, secure and scalable digital infrastructure across the region’s diverse economies. Rachel’s role is expected to contribute to the company’s efforts to align its services more closely with local market requirements while supporting customers as digital expectations continue to rise.
