Singapore –Exabeam, a global provider of intelligence and automation solutions for security operations, has appointed Pete Harteveld as its new chief executive officer. The leadership change follows the planned retirement of Chris O’Malley, who departs after three years at the helm and over three decades in senior executive roles.
The transition takes place during a period of sustained growth for Exabeam, highlighting the organisation’s continued progress and market traction.
Pete previously held the position of chief revenue officer at Exabeam and brings more than twenty years of experience in driving global revenue expansion and building performance-focused teams in the cybersecurity and technology industries.
He is expected to guide the company into its next phase of strategic growth, with an emphasis on AI-driven innovation in security operations.
“I am honoured to step into the role of CEO at such a pivotal moment in Exabeam’s journey,” Pete shared.
He added, “I look forward to building on the foundation that Chris’s leadership and our employees worldwide have built to position Exabeam at incredible strength in driving continued growth, and ensuring we deliver unmatched value to customers and partners.”
In 2024, Exabeam merged with LogRhythm to create an integrated, AI-enabled security operations platform that enhances the effectiveness of security information and event management (SIEM) and user and entity behaviour analytics (UEBA).
Over the past year, the company has introduced more than 400 AI-powered advancements, reinforcing its position as a leading provider of AI-driven security solutions.
Following Exabeam’s growth over the last year, Chris is confident in Pete’s leadership and the leadership experience he brings to the company.
“With the company delivering two of the strongest quarters in our history, the business has the wind beneath its wings, and I know Pete is the right leader to guide Exabeam into its next chapter,” Chris commented.
Recent developments include the launch of Exabeam Nova and the introduction of insider threat detection for AI agents in partnership with Google Cloud, enabling organisations to shift from reactive defence to proactive, outcomes-focused security strategies.
Earlier this month, the company announced its 14th consecutive quarterly product update, further expanding tools designed to help security teams demonstrate value and make data-driven operational decisions.
