Deel expands AI identity verification capabilities with Clarity acquisition

Singapore – Deel has acquired AI cybersecurity company Clarity as the global people platform looks to strengthen identity verification and security capabilities for organisations managing international workforces.

The acquisition comes as Deel also revealed it has surpassed US$1.5 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR) during the first half of 2026. The company said the milestone reflects its continued profitable growth and provides additional capacity to invest in AI technologies and strategic acquisitions.

Clarity specialises in AI-powered identity verification, deepfake detection and fraud prevention. Deel said integrating the company’s technology will expand its identity security capabilities across the employee lifecycle, from pre-employment identity verification and background checks to post-hire device provisioning and secure workforce access.

According to Deel, the acquisition is intended to help organisations address emerging security risks associated with the growing use of AI in the workplace by enabling continuous identity verification rather than relying solely on checks conducted during hiring.

“AI is changing every part of how companies build global teams, but it’s also changing the threat landscape,” said Alex Bouaziz, Co-Founder and CEO of Deel. “Organisations need more than point-in-time verification; they need continuous trust. Bringing Clarity and its world-class AI talent into Deel gives us the capabilities to build trusted identity security directly into our platform. This lets customers confidently hire, onboard, and manage verified teams globally, with continuous safeguards that evolve as threats get smarter.”

As part of the transaction, Clarity’s engineering team and proprietary AI technology will be integrated into Deel. The company said the move will support the development of AI-native identity and security capabilities within its platform while complementing its existing network of background check partners.

Deel said the combined capabilities will connect identity verification before hiring with device provisioning and workforce access management through Deel IT, creating what it describes as a trusted identity layer that spans the entire workforce lifecycle.

Michael Matias, Co-Founder and CEO of Clarity, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s goal of extending continuous identity verification to a broader customer base.

“Trust shouldn’t end after a background check on day one,” said Michael. “We built Clarity to continuously verify identity in an era where AI makes fraud more convincing than ever. Joining Deel allows us to bring that vision to one of the world’s largest global workforce platforms and help organisations confidently embrace AI while strengthening security across the entire employee journey.”

The transaction marks Deel’s 15th acquisition. The company said its acquisition strategy is focused on expanding platform capabilities through targeted mergers and acquisitions while bringing AI technologies in-house, maintaining customer flexibility and supporting capital-efficient growth.
