Singapore – Cohesity, an AI-powered data security company, has recently announced that it has appointed Emily Chua as the new country director of sales for Malaysia. This new role will see her spearhead the company’s overall business strategy, sales operations, and growth strategy in the country.

Chua boasts more than 26 years in the enterprise technology industry, with a proven expertise and ability to build high-performing teams as well as drive strong customer and partner relationships.

She also joins Cohesity from Dell Technologies, where she played an instrumental role in leading its go-to-market strategies to align with the organisation’s business transformation agenda.

Prior to her role at Dell Technologies, Chua further served at EMC Computer Systems (M) Sdn Bhd, where she led the enterprise sales team to secure significant multi-million-dollar contracts and achieve consistent year-on-year revenue expansion.

Her earlier career includes positions at SCS Computer Systems and Wincor Nixdorf in Malaysia, where she honed her expertise in enterprise technology.

Speaking about Chua’s appointment, Lim Hsin Yin, Vice President of Sales for ASEAN at Cohesity, said, “We have seen evolving customer requirements in Malaysia over the last few years, as organisations put priority on addressing issues related to cloud migration, cybersecurity and compliance.”

“With Emily’s strong track record in delivering business results and sales excellence, I am confident that our customers and partners will benefit greatly from her commitment and proven ability to address pertinent cyber resiliency requirements in Malaysia,” he further added.

Meanwhile, Chua stated, “In an increasingly complex cyber threat landscape, cyber resiliency is no longer optional for organisations to ensure business continuity.”

“By combining Cohesity’s scale-out architecture and strong generative AI and security capabilities with Veritas’ broad workload support and extensive global footprint, we are committed to driving industry-leading cyber resilience innovations to ensure we continue to be Malaysia’s first choice for data security with differentiated AI capabilities,” Chua stated.
