Manila, Philippines – The latest report from cybersecurity firm Fortinet revealed that cloud network migrations raise major concerns for companies regarding the security of their data and applications, given these networks are often targeted by hackers.
According to the firm, data leakage further remains a significant concern for companies, with recovery costs potentially substantial. Enterprises are also worried about lack of network visibility and control, especially for those leveraging multiple cloud platforms.
This move highlights the need for robust cloud security management.
The firm in particular, commented, “For example, a financial services firm considering cloud migration for customer transaction data might hesitate due to fears of regulatory noncompliance or potential exposure of sensitive information through misconfigurations.”
“The ability to detect and respond to threats across cloud environments in real-time is critical as organizations adopt increasingly complex multi cloud and hybrid strategies,” it added.
In addition, some respondents pointed out the potential challenge of lacking the right skills to effectively deploy and manage a full solution across all cloud environments.
Cloud technology has facilitated the shift to hybrid work setups, ensuring that employees can access documents, files, and applications from their laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
