Sydney, Australia – AMP, an Australian financial services company, has introduced its latest banking venture, offering small business owners and customers access to a new mobile-first banking experience with advanced banking and security solutions.

As per the bank, the initiative is designed to empower Australia’s small business owners, such as micro businesses, solopreneurs, and side hustlers. It further ensures customers benefit from an advanced, flexible banking experience that integrates smoothly with business banking functions.

When it comes to features, it also provides a suite of tools and smart technology aimed at making banking more seamless and secure, including advanced fraud and identity theft protection.

This encompasses the most recent fraud and identity theft protection like Australia’s numberless debit cards for small businesses and selfie-style video identity verification conducted by two customer service reps for enhanced security.

For added privacy, customers can further hide or display their on-screen account balance with a single tap. Additionally, a dedicated 24/7 human support team is available through phone and live chat to assist with any enquiries.

Interestingly, the bank also has the capability to offer seamless connectivity between personal and business banking, featuring the UK banking innovation ‘Spaces.’ Spaces supports virtual sub-accounts to streamline tax payments, payroll, and financial management.

It also has smart self-service tools that enhance customer control and visibility, such as spending analytics categorised by merchants and suppliers.

Talking about the launch, Sean O’Malley, group executive at AMP Bank, said, “We are thrilled to launch our brand-new digital bank—purpose-designed and built from the ground up to transform the banking experience for Australia’s millions of micro, side hustlers, small business owners, and everyday banking customers.”

“We searched the world to source the very best in banking technology to create what we’re confident will be Australia’s premier mobile digital banking experience. We’ve loaded the new app with the very latest tech and innovations to provide business owners with the latest in cyber, fraud, and scam protection, and the capability to integrate leading small business software solutions,” he added.

O’Malley further continued, “Our ambition is to help small business owners—sole traders, side hustlers, and other small businesses—seamlessly run and administer their business from the convenience of their mobile phone.”

“Today’s launch is just the beginning, with AMP Bank set to announce a range of new partnerships and features over the coming months,” he concluded.

Designed for seamless integration with small business management tools, the new mobile app streamlines accounting, cash flow tracking, and tax management. This can be downloaded from the Apple App or Google Play stores, with a simple and fully mobile onboarding process.
